Properties at risk of receiving Low Water Pressure?

Properties at risk of receiving Low Water Pressure or Flow are recorded by South West Water and receive special attention.

The most usual causes for receiving low water pressure are that the property is at a similar elevation to the service reservoir which supplies the area, or because the property is at the end of a long main with significant demand at certain times of day.

Where possible, South West Water work to resolve any problems with low water pressure, whether by the installation of booster pumps or the upgrading of sections of pipe to allow sufficient volume of water through to the property.

Our ongoing battle to reduce leakage across the region is also helping to improve water pressures in the mains as less of our precious resource is trickling away!

If you have any problems with low pressure or have any concerns about a property which suffers from low pressure, please feel free to contact South West Water’s helpline 0344 346 2020 where staff can give you further help and advice.
